Acorn Babies
with love from Maureen and Shanti at Twig and Toadstool
We're so excited to be doing a guest post here at ecoMILF! We understand completely the need for some peace in the early weeks with a new babe...and we're too far away to make a meal, so we thought we CAN help this new mama out by doing a post for her!!! All the best as you enjoy your sweet new babe!
In case you don't know who we are, we are Twig and Toadstool, (aka Maureen and Shanti). Two creative souls and friends who blog together! Please come by and have a visit!!!

In the spirit of babies, we decided to do a little something baby related. Here's a sweet and simple craft that you can make with just a few supplies!
To make a little acorn baby you will need:
2 small wooden beads, 1/2 inch in diameter
2 acorn caps
pipecleaner...about 4 inches long
some wool roving
needle, (for needle felting)
2 pods, (we used milk pods...you may have some more exotic pods in Australia)
glue gun and glue sticks
So...to start you will fold your pipe cleaner in half and glue it in to your wooden bead...like so!
Then take your roving, (in whatever colour you please), and start wrapping it around and around your pipecleaner...
you're wanting this "baby" to look swaddled by roving.
Then take your needle felting needle and poke it into the end bits, to get them to hold.
(I suppose another alternative, if you don't have a needle is to just use some glue...but, I find the needle also helps to tidy it up a bit...poke in any stray bits)
Glue on your acorn cap!
And oh my goodness...here you go...a sweet little baby. Doesn't that little milk pod look cozy?
This is a super easy craft, with a great result!
Enjoy!
Happy baby making;)
