a family walk

Because Brad works as often as he does, our once a week 'family day' is absolutely jam-packed with to do lists (trips to the hardware store, gardening, catching up on household chores, fix-it jobs, grocery store runs etc.). That said, as much as we can, we drop everything and just go walking. It doesn't have to be far. The only requisite is that we can escape a bit of city life and just be a bit more with Nature.

This particular trip was only five minutes from our house (We only live 10 minutes from the city, but this is the beauty of Sydney). A little bushwalk along a hidden part of Sydney harbour. Fresh, crisp Autumn air, a little bit of sunshine, mushrooms, flowers and little creatures all along the way.

It's always worth delaying work and chores and dropping everything that you think 'needs' to be done in order to truly be together and appreciate what life's really about, what to be grateful for and what is important.

Yep, I agree. Somehow those walks put everything else into perspective and lighten the mood.
Happy Mothers' Day.

so very true.
i know i am very guilty of getting worried about things that 'need doing' when they are really that important in the big scheme of things.

you are so right we at times get to caugght up in what 'has' or 'should' be done that it is nice to just be able to drop things & get out into nature.
