a simple baby mobile
Juniper spent her first 4 months in bed with Brad and I. Brad slept on the left side and I slept next to him with Juniper tucked up close to my body on the right edge. North and Indigo often come tiptoeing to our bed in the middle of the night and very covertly cuddle themselves up between us without us having even stirred, so I insisted Juni had to go on the end protected by me.
Well, Juni started rolling consistently a few weeks ago and I quickly started losing sleep- she couldn't go in the middle for fear of being squashed by her siblings and she couldn't go on the end because she rolls around so much.
So, we set up the cot in our bedroom. Problem solved. When she wakes at night I roll out of bed, pick her up and roll back into bed to feed her. When she's finished I pick her up and place her back in her bed. In the morning when she wakes up, she coos and chirps at her beautiful new mobile.
This mobile is special because it was a family creation. Indigo and North wet felted the balls (while they were having a bath one night) and searched and found the perfect branch to hang them from; I strung each ball up; and Brad... well, we did use his fishing line...
